After images of Peugeot 2008 was leaked online, French automaker have officially revealed the new SUV. 2019 Peugeot 2008 is a smaller version of 3008 and company is hoping to emulate the success of the smaller sibling. 2019 Peugeot 2008 will be launched next year and pricing details will be revealed later. Just like new 208, 2019 Peugeot 2008 is being offered in petrol, diesel and electric powertrains. For petrol enthusiasts, buyers can choose between three versions of 1.2-liter PureTech three-cylinder engine which offers an output of 99hp, 128hp and 153hp respectively. There is also 1.5-liter BlueHDI diesel options that offers 99hp and is being offered with manual transmission.
Most interesting addition in the 2019 Peugeot 2008 is the all-electric version, e-2008. This model is powered with 50 kWh battery pack and supported by electric motor with 136hp. This powertrain supports 100 kW rapid charging that means that in just 30 minutes of charging, it can attain up to 80 percent capacity. Peugeot e-2008 has an all-electric driving range of 193 miles based on WLTP. Since, the battery packed is placed under the floor, the car offers considerable trunk and interior space like any of its other ICE siblings. 2019 Peugeot 2008 is based in CMP (Common Modular Platform) and thus, is 14 cm longer, 1.7 meters wider and 1.54 meters higher than its sibling. All models have standard trunk capacity of 360 liters.
Several safety and technologies features have been incorporated in 2019 Peugeot 2008. Drive Assist system includes lane positioning assist, lane departure warning, and adaptive cruise control with Stop & Go functionality. It is also equipped with Full Park Assist, Automotive Emergency Brake Assist, Active lane keeping assist, Driver Attention Monitoring, Peugeot Smartbeam Assistance, Speed limit recognition and recommendation, Extended traffic sign recognition, Active Blind Spot Monitoring, and an electric parking brake. Cabin includes 10-speaker Focal audio system and Peugeot’s 3D i-Cockpit completed by a tiny steering wheel and a head-up display.
