In coming weeks, Pebble Beach we will be enthralled with two Ford Mustangs that will engross iconic blue/orange Gulf racing livery. Last week, we were teased by a bespoke one-off model for a special customer from Roush. Now, we have another special Ford Mustang from Tennessee-based Brown Lee Performance that can be purchased. 2019 Mustang Gulf Heritage Edition is based on 2020 Mustang GT and can be brought for $139,995. For this amount, buyers would get more than just a classic livery on a modern Mustang.
Brown Lee Performance stated that this is an official Gulf Heritage Mustang, made officially apparently via a license agreement with Gulf Oil. It mimics livery from the LeMans-winning Ford GT40 in both 1968 and 1969. Hence, this particular Mustang wears Gulf branding. Unfortunately, we are disappointed to see without GT40s orange wheels. With respect to power, 2019 Mustang Gulf Heritage Edition is lacking power. Under the hood, there is GT’s supercharged 5.0-liter V8 that produces output in excess of 800 horsepower (597 kilowatts). The engine can be mated with six-speed manual or ten-speed automatic transmission.
Moreover, the suspension has been upgraded, even though details on the changes aren’t disclosed to reveal stating lowered sport suspension. Few changes are made to the body such as a carbon fiber front splitter and side sills, a rear spoiler with a Gurney lip, a rear diffuser and special badging to identify it as limited production vehicle. Brown Lee Performance is a subsidiary f Brown Lee Ford based in Tennessee. Only 119 units of 2019 Mustang Gulf Heritage Edition will be made and can be obtained in coupe or convertible version. Each unit will have 3-year/36,000-mile warranty. 2019 Mustang Gulf Heritage Edition will make its public debut at Pebble Beach on 18th August.
