BMW is doing everything to keep the lid off the 8- Series Convertible. As it turns out, it is one of their worst kept secrets. The 8-Series never had cabriolet in their range but 6-Series had and will mark the first time 8-Series to be driven with its top-off. A Belgian website by the name of Autotjid released images of the 2019 BMW 8-Series Convertible. It leaves nothing to imagination and bares it all for us. The car we are going to see is BMW M850i xDrive Convertible. It is not that surprising as the coupe was launched in same powertrain configuration.
Till now, we have seen the model in camouflage but last we saw it had camo all over the trunk lid and rear fenders. The website broke the convention and released the images way ahead of schedule. Unofficial images of 2019 BMW 8-Series Convertible puts it in a glamorous light. World debut of the 2019 BMW 8-Series Convertible will take place Los Angeles Auto Show. Power in the range topping M850i xDrive will come from twin-turbo 4.4 liter V8 gasoline unit. The engine is mated with eight-speed Steptronic automatic transmission.
The setup helps in generating an output of 523hp and 750Nm of torque to be content. 2019 BMW 8-Series Convertible is able to accelerate from 0 to 62mph in under 4 seconds and has an electronically top speed of 155 mph. Coupe version is able to accelerate the same in 3.7 seconds. The cabriolet will be tad slower because of the increased drag and weight penalty. Now that the official images are leaked, we expect that BMW will release additional official photos even before Los Angeles debut.
