Few months back, BMW revealed 3-Series in China which was codenamed as G20. It had a length of 185.4 inch that makes it largest 3-Series ever made. The wheelbase of G20 was 112.2 inch which is also unprecedented. However, Chinese buyers love long wheelbase models and many automakers are more than happy to oblige. BMW has now introduced 3-Series Li and in essence is Chinese version of a proper sedan. Report from AutoWeek.nl suggests that 2019 BMW 3-Series Li measures 4.83 inch, which makes it 120mm longer than standard wheelbase model.
Most of the stretch can be found on the wheelbase which now measures a substantial 2.96 meters. It will give superior legroom for passengers sitting in the backside. It is 4.3 inch more than the standard G20 3-Series. In this post, we have showcased 325 Li M Sport Sedan which has same design to that of global sedan. It has M Sport body kit and the rear doors of 2019 BMW 3-Series Li is longer because of the elongated wheelbase. The power in this version comes from turbocharged 2.0 liter four-cylinder engine that is rated at 181hp and 300Nm of torque. The top speed is rated at 148mph and is able to accelerate from 0-62mph in 7.2 seconds.
Interestingly, same engine is also available in Europe and we expect more powerful engine in coming months. Just like previous generation BMW 3-Series Li, the latest version of 3-Series Li is built by BMW Brilliance with joint venture with Shenyang plant. 2019 BMW 3-Series Li will compete against other LWB models such as Audi A4 L, Jaguar XE L, and the Mercedes C-Class L. Market launch is planned for late 2019. It will have huge task in its hand as previous generation 3-Series Li sold 130,000 units last year.
