At the 2018 Los Angeles Auto Show, Audi presented E-Tron GT Concept that received positive feedbacks from fans and critic alike. Now, at the 2019 Edition of the same event, they showcased E-Tron Sportback and by next year, Audi will be revealing production version of the E-Tron GT Concept. Mark Lichte, brand design director, gave few hints to Autocar regarding the 2019 Audi E-Tron GT. Without divulging any exact details, he said that in one more year they will present their coupe. It is a strong hint towards an emission free sedan.
Audi plans to launch E-Tron Sportback in European market in spring of 2020 which has a starting price of £71,350. We are assuming that first customer deliveries of 2019 Audi E-Tron GT will begin from spring of 2021. This assumption is based on Audi’s current model release strategy but is not confirmed at this point. The size of E-Tron GT will be similar to that of A7. Hence, it would have sleek body shape and a sporty side profile along with shorter front overhang for an aggressive stance.
GT Concept preview a year ago had a flat-floor architecture with 90-kWh battery pack that takes entire underbody floor area between the axles. The E-Tron GT prototype has a peak output of around 582 horsepower and a range of around 250 miles as per WLTP test cycle. Audi Sport product marketing head, Stefan Holischka said this year that acceleration is not important but able to reproduce acceleration five, six, seven times is most important.
