After months of speculations and rumors, Hyundai has officially taken the veil off new i30 N. 2018 Hyundai i30 N will be the first performance hatchback from the South Korean automaker. As the name suggest, it is based on i30 and will compete against the Ford Focus ST, Peugeot 308 GTi, and Volkswagen Golf GTI. 2018 Hyundai i30 N will be available in two versions and both of them will be powered with 2.0 liter petrol engine that is mated with six-speed manual gearbox. The base model of 2018 Hyundai i30 N has an output of 246 horsepower (250 PS) whereas the Performance Package variant will have an output of 271 horsepower (275 PS).
The base version will take 6.4 seconds to reach 62 mph from stagnant position while the powerful version takes just 6.1 seconds. The chassis for both these models have been upgraded with new adaptive suspension. Hence, it will have five driving modes which are Eco, Normal, Sport, N, and N Custom respectively. The activation of these modes is made possible via dedicated buttons on the steering wheel. The exterior of the 2018 Hyundai i30 N has an aggressive bumper and rear spoiler. According to Hyundai, they have managed to come up with right ratio with respect to downforce, aerodynamics and drag.
The Performance Package models will come with 19 inch alloy wheels which are wrapped with Pirelli P-Zero tires and has bigger brakes with red calipers, variable exhaust valve system and electronic limited-slip differential. The interior of the 2018 Hyundai i30 N has also received some interesting tweaking such as model specific steering wheel and gear knob, electronic instrument cluster and shift-timing indicator in the middle. One would find N logos surrounding the interior. 2018 Hyundai i30 N will be offered in six exterior paint finish and it also includes the exclusive Performance Blue. Hyundai i30 N will launched across Europe by the end of 2017.
