2018 Corvette ZR1 prototypes seen lapping around Laguna Seca

Many people were expecting to see 2018 Corvette ZR1 at Detroit Auto Show, but were disappointed not to see it. Corvette ZR1 is still being tested and it was spotted at Mazda Raceway Laguna Seca. In this video, you will see that both the rear wings are being tested. One could also hear the sound of V8 engine. There were four prototypes for high performance testing. The new video also discloses how two wings are being created and one of them is big and fixed whereas the small one is aggressive.

The high-downforce body kit of 2018 Corvette ZR1 might be optional to offer much sharper performance. The engine of the 2018 Corvette ZR1 is being discussed heavily and rightly so. It will be powered with twin-turbocharged 6.2 liter V8 LT5 engine. It is expected that the output will be around 700 to 750 horsepower which will make it slate above Z06. Corvette Z06 has an output of 650 horsepower that comes from 6.2 liter supercharged V8 LT4 engine. It would be one of the most powerful Corvettes till date.

2018 Corvette ZR1 might premier at the upcoming 2017 Continental Tire Road Race Showcase. It would be on sale by the end of this year. The next generation Corvette will arrive in the year 2019 and would have engine behind the driver. The step is quite revolutionary is highly anticipated by the fans.
