Alfa Romeo planned that 2018 4C Coupe will bring back them from the brink and land them into the future. Unfortunately, it has been overlooked by the customers as for them 2018 Alfa Romeo 4C Coupe is not as enticing as Porsche Cayman or 718 Boxster. There are conflicting reports regarding the car, but product manager of Alfa Romeo 4C Danny Britt talked to Motor Authority regarding the same. He confirmed that Coupe variant will indeed be discontinued after unit until there is last supply. With respect to other market, it will be continued to offer to other markets.
Alfa Romeo 4C Spider will continue to live on without disruption. The major impact of dropping 2018 Alfa Romeo 4C Coupe will reflect on the pricing. The publication noted that pricing of 2018 4C Spider will start from $66,900 which is $11,000 expensive than the 2018 4C Coupe. 2018 Alfa Romeo 4C Coupe is priced from $55,900. Alfa Romeo 4C Spider is pricier than $1,000 than last year’s model but at additional cost, users will be getting standard equipment such as rearview camera. The optional Track Package will be dropped and in its place same components will be offered individually as options.
It is unclear why Alfa Romeo dropped 4C from its lineup and retained Spider, but there is a probability it might be popular among customers. 4C Coupe sales have been disappointing even when compared to affordable halo cars. Data shows that only 406 units of 2018 Alfa Romeo 4C Coupe were sold last year and in the month of May 2018, only 95 units were sold. Thankfully, Alfa Romeo is doing little bit better in Europe as 871 units of 4C were across the continent.
