The second generation of Mini soft crossover is more masculine and bigger 2017 MINI Countryman. It was unveiled just few weeks before its world debut in mid November at the LA Auto Show. In 2010 Mini introduced its first generation of Countryman. It was the biggest model of the brand. But last year it lost its title with the transformation of the new Clubman into proper five or six door station wagon. In order to regain the distinction in its second iteration. The 2017 MINI Countryman has grown by 300 mm in width and 200 mm in total length. Its wheelbase is also extended by 75 mm. While positioning it closer to the regular compact SUV such as Audi’s Q3.
The new 2017 MINI Countryman will be available with an electric tailgate control which will offer a unique option known as Picnic Beach. It will fold out the luggage compartment and will provide seating for more than two people, of course when the car is stationary. Mini has maintained the original exterior design of Countryman. It has added a little bit of angularity in the mix with the edgier cues. Such as creases on the fenders and headlamps for more rugged and tougher look.
The crossover shares many elements inside with other new Mini’s. It includes the large touchscreen which is positioned in the round component on the center console. The new Countryman will go on sale on 2017 March in the US with plug in hybrid variant will follow in June of the same year. Its price for the US market will be announced later on.
