The 1936 Lancia Astura Pininfarina Cabriolet is named as the Bet in the Show at the Pebble Beach Concours d’Elegance 2016. And this car is just amazing. This car has a quite interesting history. This particular 1936 Lancia Astura Pininfarina Cabriolet was among one of 6 similar cars that was built for an Italian Lancia dealer exclusively. And each of them had a unique feature. However, what makes the 1936 Lancia Astura Pininfarina Cabriolet apart is curved side glass and power roof, woodgrain instruments and also a basket woven interior.
In 1960 the car was in bad condition before going to a restoration by Pininfarina. But following that, Eric Clapton the musician bought it. He said that it is the most fun that he have had offstage and out of bed. Then it was sold again to Pininfarina before it was purchased by the car owner. Recently it went through another complete restoration. It deserves to win the Best of Show this year.
